Michael grew up in a family of a nurse and a physicist (he was originally going to follow in his father's footsteps and become a physicist too).
As an actor, Michael won an Emmy Award for Best Actor in the TV film David's Mother (1994). also known for his role as Justin in the teenage series "The Five of Us" / Party of Five (1994 - 2000).
As a director, Michael earned acclaim for her first independent film, Illusion (2004), which he directed in Hollywood with legend Kirk Douglas in the title role.
