Estonian actress Salme Reek was born on November 10, 1907. Since childhood, the girl dreamed of becoming famous, dreamed of singing, dancing. Therefore, after receiving secondary education, she entered the Gleser drama studio, which she graduated in 1930. In parallel with this, she attended Naggo's dance studio.
Since 1930 she has been playing at the Drama Theater in Tallinn. Her whole fate will be inextricably linked with this theater, here she will play until the very last days of her life.
For a long time, the work of the actress was directly connected only with the theater. In addition to the Drama Theater in the 1940s, Reek played on the stage of the Tallinn Youth Theater. She appeared in cinema at a mature age - the first film with Salme Reek was released only in 1965, it was called Cold Earth. The actress played a village woman. During the period from 1965 to 1995, the actress starred in 30 films of various genres.
