Lyudmila Tselikovskaya comes from a creative family. Mother was an opera singer, father was a musician. It is not surprising that little Luda learned the notes earlier than the letters. After the family moved from Astrakhan to Moscow, the parents got a job at the Bolshoi Theater. Lyudmila studied piano at the Gnessin School. It is quite possible that she would have become a professional musician, which her parents wanted, but then theater entered life. After school, she enters Shchukinskoye and successfully finishes it.

As a student, she has already participated in performances of the Vakhtangov Theater, in which she later worked her entire creative life. Also at the school, she first appeared in a movie. The role of the pioneer in the film Young Captains did not bring success, but the actress was noticed. Further films with the participation of Lyudmila Tselikovskaya are released on screens with enviable constancy. Of course, the war hindered this, but, as you know, the artists also made a significant contribution to the Victory cause with their work. Anton Ivanovich is angry, Air Carrier, Hearts of four, Gemini, Ivan the Terrible - these and other films have lifted our heroine to the pinnacle of popularity. True, the authorities treated her rather coolly, she was the only one who did not receive the Stalin Prize for the film Ivan the Terrible. Slightly inconsistent with her role with the ideals of the Soviet system.

After the war, she starred with her husband, the famous Mikhail Zharov, in the film Restless Economy. The picture was a success with the audience, but critics accused her of lack of ideology. Further in the career of the actress came a difficult period. Having starred in a serious role in the film The Story of a Real Man, she wanted to change her role and become a dramatic actress. Alas, the directors did not see this, and even the divorce from Zharov did its job. Tselikovskaya left the cinema for many years. In addition, the new husband of Tselikovskaya K. Halabyan fell into disgrace to Beria himself, and she, along with him and her little son, was even forced to leave Moscow. In the 50s, she starred in several films, the most famous of which is The Jumper.

After the death of Alabyan, Tselikovskaya connects her fate with Yuri Lyubimov, whom she had known since her youth. It is largely thanks to her that the director created his own Taganka Theater, but for Lyudmila it again turned out to be not the most pleasant period in her life. She received the title of People's Artist, but only in the RSFSR, although she deserved more. And the new artistic director of the Vakhtangov Theater, Mikhail Ulyanov, practically did not give her roles, as the wife of an unreliable director. Things were no better in the cinema. The most notable film with Lyudmila Tselikovskaya of that period is Vladimir Motyl's Forest, based on the play by A. Ostrovsky.

In recent years, the actress was seriously ill. While she could, she came to rehearsals and played in performances. But the disease progressed, and on July 6, 1992, Lyudmila Tselikovskaya died.
