The actor was born in 1960 in the Belarusian Republic of the USSR. The exact date of birth is unknown to anyone. He is one of the most popular Soviet child actors. Dichkovsky's further career in cinema did not work out.

At the age of 11, Vladimir Dichkovsky was accidentally spotted by the assistant director Nikolai Kalinin, who traveled to schools in order to find the main character for the film adaptation of Anatoly Rybakov's story Kortik.
