Was born on April 28, 1932 in Leningrad.
In 1962 he graduated from the Theater School named after B.V. Shchukin (course of I.M. Rapoport) and became an actor of the Vakhtangov Theater.
On this stage, the actor played a lot of notable roles, mainly in the classics. In his works, Volyntsev combined vivid theatricality with the psychological reliability of his characters, which not all of his colleagues succeed in.
A brilliant comedian, star of the Vakhtangov stage, creator of the image of Pan Sportsman in the TV show "Zucchini 13 Chairs", besides this, Yuri Volyntsev was a regular participant in the film magazine "Fit", and also voiced many popular cartoons.
Wolf ("The smallest gnome"), Green ("The secret of the third planet"), Amanita ("How mushrooms and peas fought"), Ivan ("The Magic Ring") and many other characters of famous cartoons speak in his voice.

He passed away on August 9, 1999 in Moscow. The actor was buried at the Khovanskoye cemetery (Central Territory, site 45ZH).
