Born June 10, 1945, Trakai, USSR (Lithuania) - Soviet actor.

From 1961 he worked as a turner for three years at the Vilnius Diesel Depot. He went in for sports, was the champion and winner of the youth republican championships.

From 1964 to 1967 he served in the border troops. As part of a freelance army ensemble, he first tried himself on the big stage. Then he got carried away with writing poetry and scripts.

In 1967 he was awarded the title of Laureate of the All-Union Festival of Folk Art. Having retired, he worked as a teacher in a rural school, an apparatus operator at a household chemicals plant, a fitter ...

After successful performances in several republican and all-Union competitions, he was invited to work as a soloist in the ensemble "Neman Lights" of the Lithuanian State Philharmonic Society, and since January 1972 - to work in the Moscow State Music Hall, then as a soloist of the Moscow State Orchestra "Sovremennik" / from A. Kroll.

In 1975 Shumsky went to work at Mosconcert. Participant of many television programs of the past, laureate of the popular television contests of the 70s “Hello! We are looking for talents! " and "With a song through life!" He performed with the USSR State Television and Radio Orchestras directed by Yu. Silantyev, B. Karamyshev, and toured for many years with a solo program.

In 1969 he represented the country out of competition at the international song festivals in Sopot (Poland) and Sochi.

He graduated from the directing department of the Faculty of Musical Theater of the A. Lunacharsky State Institute of Theatrical Art (GITIS, now RATI) in 1981.

Organizer and director of many festive programs in the squares and concert halls of Moscow and beyond.
