Studied at the 2nd Daugavpils gymnasium (1937-1940), in the acting studio of the People's Theater (1942-1944). Was drafted into the German army (1944), was in captivity, after returning from Moscow (1945-1946) graduated from the acting studio of the Drama Theater. A. Upita (1948).
Actor of the Drama Theater. A. Upita (1947-1948) and the Liepaja Music and Drama Theater (1949-1951). He was arrested and exiled to Siberia (1951). After exile - an actor of the Valmiera Drama Theater (1955-1957) and the Drama Theater. A. Upita (1957-1966).
He acted a lot in films in various roles at various studios of the Soviet Union.
