He studied at the drama courses E.E. Zeltmatis in Riga (1930-1933) .
He worked at the Liepaja Latvian Theater (1933-1937), at the National Theater (Riga, 1937-1941), at the Riga People's Theater (1941-1944).
Since 1944 - actor at the Latvian Academic Drama Theater named after A. Upita. In cinema - since 1949.
