Since 1967 he has been an actor at Kaunas Drama Theater. In 1972 he graduated from the Faculty of Acting of the Lithuanian Conservatory. Popular popularity of this artist was brought by the paintings "Double trap", "Executioner" and "Genius". In total, Algis Matulionis starred in more than 80 films. After the collapse of the USSR, he practically did not act in films. He is currently the head of the Lithuanian Filmmakers Union. He is married and has a son and a daughter.
