Honored Artist of the Russian Socialist Republic Evgeny Burenkov was born in a small village in the Smolensk Region on December 7, 1924. In 1942, when Yevgeny was 18 years old, he was drafted into the ranks of the Soviet army. After the end of the war, Burenkov performed with the Baltic Fleet Orchestra.
