In 1955 he graduated from the acting faculty of GITIS.

Host of the TV show "Serpentine". Since 1994 - Member of the Board of Trustees of the NTV television company. Deputy Chairman of the Council for Culture and Art under the President of the Russian Federation. Teacher, leads a director's workshop at the RATI (formerly GITIS).
