Born January 28, 1985, Frankfurt am Main, Germany - American hip-hop artist and music producer, better known under the pseudonym J. Cole.
He became widely known after the release of his debut mixtape The Come Up. Then, as an artist for the record company Roc Nation, he released two mixtapes: The Warm Up and Friday Night Lights.
Cole's debut studio album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 charts, subsequently earning a platinum certification. The artist's next two projects, namely Born Sinner and 2014 Forest Hills Drive, were met with positive reviews from music critics, and later both albums went platinum. In addition, at the 58th Grammy Awards, 2014 Forest Hills Drive was nominated for Best Rap Album and became the first rap album in 25 years to be certified platinum without guest verses on the album.
Among other things, Cole has produced both his own tracks and tracks by other artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Janet Jackson throughout his career. In turn, he is the creator of the Dreamville Records label.
