Born in Athens, Georgia, USA.
While studying at Princeton, he met his future partner Andrew Kosov. Broderick and Kosov were later introduced to FedEx Corporation founder Frederick Smith. As a result, Smith signed a partnership with future producers and helped found Alcon Entertainment.
Broderick Johnson made his film debut work on the film "Italian Lovers" (Love Is All There Is, 1996) .
