Was born on November 24, 1929 in Moscow.
In 1951 he graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School (course of Alexander Mikhailovich Karev) and became an actor in the Moscow Theater of Transport.
From 1952 to the present day, Viktor Korshunov has been an artist, and now director of the Maly Theater.
Since 1954 he has been teaching at the Theater School. Shchepkina (since 1966 - associate professor, since 1973 - professor).
Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1961).
People's Artist of the USSR (1984).
On February 12, 2005, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, by his decree, awarded V. Korshunov with the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree for outstanding services in the development of theatrical art and many years of creative activity.
