Russian singer Elizaveta Valdemarovna Ivantsiv, better known under the pseudonym Yolka, was born in the summer of 1982 in western Ukraine, in the city of Uzhgorod. Little Lisa grew up in a musical family, and she inherited her talent from her mother and father (her mother was a multi-instrumentalist, and her father collected jazz records). From early childhood, the girl sang in the choir, and later studied vocals at the Palace of Pioneers. Already in her teens, the future singer was known throughout the region, as she was a member of the local KVN team called "Chamber No. 6". The girl received her sonorous pseudonym at the age of 11 with the light hand of her friend, and since then even the singer's family calls her nothing but Yolochka.
After the 9th grade, Lisa entered the music school, but did not graduate, as it was rather difficult to find a common language with the teachers. But, as it turned out, the lack of higher education did not in any way affect her career. Soon the girl became the soloist of the Uzhgorod group B&B, and in 2001, at one of the concerts, Vlad Valov (Master Sheff, Bad Balance) drew attention to her, invites her to Moscow and becomes her producer. From this moment, their cooperation begins, during which Yolka recorded such albums as "City of Deception", "Shadows" and "This Magnificent World". Even then, music critics did not doubt the importance of the Yolka role not only in the development of the r & b direction, but in general in the development of modern Russian pop music.
In 2010, Yolka becomes one of the judges in the Ukrainian show "X-Factor" and radically changes its image, turning from a punk kid into an extravagant, but very stylish and elegant lady. Six months later, a new song by the singer "Provence" is released, and it becomes clear that Yolka's musical style has also changed, it has become more positive and pop, which, however, only played into the singer's hands. It turned out that the audience was waiting for exactly this - the new hit takes the first lines in the charts, and Yolka receives awards and insane popularity.
In addition to her musical activities, the singer sometimes acts in films and even voices cartoons. Viewers could see such films with the participation of Yolki, such as Gentlemen, good luck !, SASHATAN, This is love, and others, where she played cameo roles.
