Graduated from the Tashkent Architectural Institute (1956), the Ostrovsky Tashkent Theater and Art Institute (1962), the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors of VGIK (1966) .
He worked as an artist at the Tashkent Drama Theater named after Khamza, chief artist at the Tajikfilm film studio, Odessa film studio. In 1966-1990 - director of the Odessa Film Studio, artistic director of the studio for the TV film "Zigzag" (1980). Since 1997 - chief director, screenwriter and artist at the Yuri Kuklachev Cat Theater. As a production designer he designed 80 performances in theaters in Odessa, Moscow, Tashkent, Vilnius, Paris.
Author of several books on cinema, including "Behind the Scenes -" Our Cinema "(Moscow, 2000. Co-authored)
