Was born on September 26, 1948 in Leningrad. After completing 10 classes as an external student, he entered LGITMiK (course of S. Andrushkevich and V. Kaim). After graduating from the university in 1971 he left for Pskov, where he worked until 1974. In 1975, at the invitation of Lev Lemke, he came to the St. Petersburg Comedy Theater.
