She was born on December 16, 1935 in Moscow in Maryina Roshcha. Mom - Anna Danilovna Myznikova (1910-1990), Don Cossack woman, worked as a teacher in a kindergarten. Father - Sergei Ivanovich Druzhinin, the son of a priest, a driver (died during the Great Patriotic War near Smolensk). In 1946, Svetlana entered the circus school, where she successfully worked in a group of circus acrobats for a year. A year later, she entered the choreographic school at the K.S. Stanislavsky and Nemirovich - Danchenko. In 1955 she graduated from the choreographic school of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater, where her classmates were the future ballet stars Maris Liepa and Natalia Kasatkina. In 1960 - the acting department of VGIK (workshop of O. I. Pyzhova and B. V. Bibikov), in 1968 - the directing department of VGIK (workshop of I. V. Talankin) .
Worked as the host of KVN programs on Central Television.
From 1955 to 1965 she was an actress at the Central Studio of Film Actor and the M. Gorky Film Studio. As an actress, she made her film debut in 1955.
