Born June 28, 1972 in Boston, USA into an Italian American family. His father Pietro was born in Italy and his mother was a blue-blooded American from the Boston aristocracy. As a child, Alessandro was a naughty, temperamental little Italian who loved music. Loving parents called him Sandro.
The world learned about Alessandro after he brilliantly played the role of rock star Ian McKnight in the musical drama "Laurel Canyon". Alessandro is often credited as being British for his excellent speech without the slightest accent.
Graduated from Yale University. Married to actress Emily Mortimer, in 2003 the couple had a son.
