Elena Mayorova was born in 1958 in the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. From the third grade, the girl began to study in a theater studio. After graduating from school, I tried to enter several theater universities at once, but failed everywhere. In order not to waste time in vain, I went to study at a construction technical school, which I graduated a year later with honors. After that, she made a second attempt to enter the theater, this time more successful - Mayorova was admitted to GITIS, to the course of Tabakov.
For the first time, Elena starred in a movie when she was a student - in 1980 she played Zoya, Katya's neighbor, in a film you never dreamed of. And a year later, a film was released with Elena Mayorova, 31st Speedway, in which she performed the main role. In the same year, the short film Cooling and Snow Expected, the film Our Calling and the film-play Uncle's Dream were shot. In the latter, the actress also played a major role.
After graduating from university, Elena began working at the Sovremennik Theater. Since 1983, she began performing on the stage of the Moscow Art Theater, and after its division she moved to the Chekhov Art Theater. In it, she performed roles in both modern and classical productions. At the same time, the actress continued to act in films. Her filmography includes 40 films.
