Born November 24, 1962.
Already at the age of 10 she performed with the orchestra of folk instruments, the repertoire of which mainly included songs by A. N. Pakhmutova, E. Kolmanovsky, and other composers.
From the age of 12 she studied at a music school - she learned to play the piano in the class of teacher Ya. A. Razamat. Having come to school not from the first of September, but after the New Year, Elena Zaitseva quickly caught up with her classmates, and then overtook them, moving from the second grade immediately to the fifth.
At the age of 14, Elena Zaitseva also performed with the Loktev ensemble. Three or four times a week from the village of Severny she traveled by bus to the Belorussky railway station, and then by metro to the Pioneers' Palace on Vorobyovy Gory; two hours of travel only one way. And also classes in ordinary and music schools, a tour with an ensemble, in which very soon Elena Zaitseva became a soloist.
After leaving school, the question of her future profession was not raised either before her or her vocal teacher R. A. Zhdanova.
In 1980, Elena Zaitseva participated in creative contests of three universities at once - the Institute. Gnesins, Moscow Conservatory and GITIS. Everywhere she reached the last round, but decided to enter the Theater Institute, of which she became a student, having entered the class of the People's Artist of Russia G.V. Oleinichenko.
By the fifth year, Elena Zaitseva was the owner of a wide range of lyric soprano and prepared herself for philharmonic activity. But on the advice of the teachers, she decided to take part in the audition for the role of the main character in the operetta "Sevastopol Waltz", which was staged at the Moscow Operetta Theater. The result of the audition was an invitation not only to this role, but also to the theater troupe.
