Yuri Aizenshpis was born on July 15, 1945. The boy's parents worked in the Main Directorate of Airfield Construction, until 1961 they lived in a wooden house, and in 1961 they received housing in Moscow.
In his youth, Yuri was fond of various sports: handball, athletics and volleyball. But at the age of 16, the boy suffered a leg injury and quit the sport. In 1968, Aizenshpis graduated from the Moscow Institute of Economics and Statistics, and in 1965 he became the administrator of a rock group called Sokol.
In 1970, Yuri was arrested. After a search in his house, more than 15 thousand rubles and about 8 thousand dollars were found and confiscated. The music manager was charged with violating foreign exchange regulations.
Yuri Aizenshpis spent 18 years in prison. After his release, he worked in the creative organization Gallery, where he held concerts of little-known performers.
In 1989, Yuri became the producer of the legendary Kino group. After the death of the soloist Viktor Tsoi, he released the Black Album, breaking the state monopoly on the publishing of records.
During his work as a music producer, Yuri collaborated with such artists as Linda, Nikita, Inga Drozdova, Vlad Stashevsky, as well as with the Young Guns and the Moral Code groups.
In 1992 and 1995, Yuri received the Ovation Award for Best Producer. In 1994 he was one of the sponsors of the international festival called Sunny Adjara, and also participated in the establishment of the Star Prize muses.
