Born December 27, 1925 in Paris, France into a family of musicians from Italy. He graduated from the School of Dramatic Art and in 1945 he played his first film role (in the film by Christian-Jacques "Witchcraft" (Sortileges)). He became famous after Jean-Luc Godard's film "Contempt". Has starred in over 100 films.
