Chris was born in Washington DC and grew up in Derwood, Maryland. He has a brother and sister. In childhood and adolescence, he was fond of baseball, basketball, football and wrestling. In addition, he was a counselor at the Seneca Creek Day Camp, where he became famous for performing songs Rocko the Lazy Moth, Ode to Salpino and many others.
While attending Magruder High School, Carmack became interested in theater, where he took part in three theatrical performances a year, and also took part in various theater festivals.
