Galina Polskikh was born on November 27, 1939 in Moscow. Her father died at the front during the Great Patriotic War, her mother died of typhus. From the age of eight, the girl lived with her grandmother.
In 1964, Galina Polskikh graduated from VGIK (workshop of S. A. Gerasimov and T. F. Makarova) and became an actress of the Film Actor's Studio Theater.
The film debut took place in 1962, in the film directed by Yu. Yu. Karasik "Wild Dog Dingo".
