Kerry Shale was born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada, but then moved to England and has been residing in London since 1978. It was in England that his acting career began. Kerry Shale is a very successful stage actor. He has many leading roles in various performances, including six solo pieces, five of which he wrote and directed himself. For BBC radio stations, Kerry Shale has recorded over 200 radio shows. He won the prestigious Sony British Radio Best Actor Award for Doctor Strangelove, for which he wrote and voiced over a dozen characters.

Kerry Shale first appeared on television in 1981, playing a small role in Sorry! but quickly switched to voice acting. However, in 1988, he himself played Mr. Beaver in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, for which he had to put on a fur suit and make a special make-up. As a voice actor, Kerry Shale is best known for cartoons about Thomas the Train and Friends, where he voiced many characters, and his voice can also be heard in many popular video games. He even made the Guinness Book of Records as the actor who voiced the most characters in a single game ("Dog's Life").
