Famous Chinese American actor James Liu was born on September 6, 1952. Since childhood, he studied martial arts and practiced Korean karate, and then also kung fu. Liu studied in detail the style of "five animals", which later came in handy when staging many complex tricks in the cinema.
One day in 1972, James Liu, who at that time was a highly respected martial artist, received an invitation from the directors to take part in the filming of the Kung Fu series and decided to agree.
Liu appeared on the movie screens at the age of 33, starring in 1985 in the film Ninja Territory. Liu has appeared in many TV series, including: Babylon 5, Spy, Wonders of Science, CSI: Miami, Science of Hand-to-Hand Combat, Eve, Detsky Hospital, Slaughter Department.
New films with James Lew are expected in 2015 titled Black Salt and Frankenstein. The actor is divorced from Pamela Gidley. No kids.
