Grew up in the town of Fredericton, where he became Freddie - the mascot - the mascot of the school sports team. The actor's mother, Anne Bennett, is a housewife, and the father of Coy Luther Perry Jr. is a worker at a steel mill. According to the actor, every year he returns home to the annual "Festival of Tomatoes".
Interested in acting at the age of 12. After graduating from school, he left for Los Angeles. However, for a long time in Hollywood, he was engaged in the production of doorknobs, laying asphalt and selling shoes.
Perry soon landed the role of Dylan McKay on Fox's teen television series Beverly Hills 90210. He originally auditioned for the role of Steve Sanders, but ended up being played by Ian Ziering.
