Born January 4, 1941, Williamstown, Massachusetts, USA - American actor, singer, and model.
Studied at the University of St. Lawrence. John divorced his first wife, Suzanne, even before Matthew's first birthday. He also has a daughter, Mia Perry, born 1986, from his second and current wife, Debbie.
Perry is well known for his role as a clean-shaven sailor in Old Spice advertisements in the 1970s and 1980s. He has appeared in numerous films and television programs, including Independence Day, George of the Jungle, West Wing, LA Law, Days of Our Lives, Little House on the Prairie, 240 Robert, Nakia, Falcon Crest, Murder She Wrote, Diagnosis : Murder, Private Investigator Magnum, etc. He also played General Douglas MacArthur in Farewell to the King.
He appeared alongside his son (portraying a father) in the 1997 film Hurry and Make People Laugh in the episode "My Unicorn" of the sitcom Scrubs. He also appeared in the Friends episode "Rachel's New Dress Episode," where he played Joshua's father, whom Rachel was dating.
