Born July 3, 1956, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - American actor, producer and director.
While attending both junior and high school, Williams was president of Andover High School, which is predominantly white. He was a good student, athlete, musician and was active in student management in Annapolis, Maryland. His father, Herman Williams Jr., was a firefighter who managed to become Baltimore's first African-American fire chief in 1992.
Montel joined the United States Marine Corps in 1974 and, while continuing his training, was recruited into the Parris Island Marine Corps in Southern California. He was later admitted to the United States Naval Academy and graduated in 1980 with a degree in international security. Williams became a cryptologist officer and served aboard the USS Sampson during the US invasion of Grenada. Montel received an expeditionary medal of the armed forces, two medals of the expeditionary fleet, two awards of the humanitarian service, two for achievements in the Navy, etc. After 12 years of service, he was promoted to lieutenant commander.
Williams began hosting his own talk show in 1991 and won a Daytime Emmy Award in 1996. However, on January 30, 2008, the Montel Williams Show was canceled. They say this was partly due to the fact that Williams criticized the media, which practically did not cover the war in Iraq, and also said that the death of the actor Heath Ledger was written everywhere and everywhere, while American soldiers died anonymous in Iraq.

Williams was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1999.
