Born in Rome, Italy. As a child, Raul was seriously involved in sports, at the age of 16 he became the Italian champion in swimming at a hundred-meter distance on the back. After serving in the army, Raoul studied physics at the university, but with the beginning of his acting career, he interrupted his studies.
Audience popularity came to him after the film "Piccolo grande amore", where he starred opposite Susannah York and Paul Freeman.
Raoul Bova was married to actress Romina Mondello. Since March 2000 she has been married to veterinarian Chiara Giordano. He has 3 children: sons Francesco and Alessandro Leon and daughter Sophia.
