Christian Alwart - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips, Director, Producer, Writer, Editor.

Born May 28, 1974, Seeheim-Jugenheim, Germany - German film director and screenwriter.

His Christian environment did not approve of watching films and television, so he rarely had the opportunity to watch movies. Soon enough, Alvart discovered his attraction to the forbidden fruit and quickly became an "expert" in cinema among his friends, successfully hiding that he had not even seen most of the films discussed. Instead, he read about films, their creation, the novels they are based on, and any other material. When he finally got the opportunity to watch movies, he could not stop, he often went to the cinemas, 6 times a week.

In 1990 he started making small films with his friends. Their group became part of the hobby filmmaker and cinematographer community. Most of his colleagues made their films only in their free time. At the age of 19, Christian took over as editor and designer for the X-TRO Filmmagazin, soon became editor-in-chief and even got the opportunity to write articles on his own.

In 1997, Alwart decided to make his own films again and moved with his company Syrreal Entertainment to Berlin. To get an idea of ??professional filmmaking, he worked as a courier for a while, soon becoming an assistant director on two films.

In 1998, Christian wrote, directed and produced his first low-budget 35mm thriller Curiosity & The Cat. In the film, he mainly involved his friends from Frankfurt. The thriller was nominated for the Max-Ophuls-Award and the Prize of the Minister President of the State Saarland.

After that, Alvart wrote scripts for German films and TV shows for a while.

In 2005, the young director made his second thriller Antibodies (Antikorper). After his premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, he was named one of the "Five Directors To Watch" and the "New Face of German Cinema" at the AFI Festival. Antibodies have also been invited to the Edinburgh Film Festival, and have won many other awards.
