Al Waxman is a Canadian actor and director born in Toronto to a Jewish family of immigrants from Poland.
Waxman's parents ran a small restaurant. His father, Aaron Waxman, died when Al was nine years old. Al's career began at the age of twelve on CBC radio. Al Waxman, actor and director, has played and directed over 1,000 works on radio, television, film and stage.
His most famous starring roles are in The King of Kensington (CBC) and Cagney and Lacey (CBS). Waxman was one of the founders of the Academy of Canadian Film and Television.
