Popular American comedian Dan Aykroyd was born in the Canadian capital Ottawa on July 1, 1952. His family was wealthy and moved in the highest circles of the local intelligentsia, his father worked at the ministry. When he graduated from high school, the future actor applied to Carleton University in Ottawa, where he studied sociology, and subsequently Dan received a doctorate. As a student, Dan became interested in writing small comedy sets, which he performed in local clubs.
