February 15, 1964, Madison, Wisconsin, USA - December 18, 1997, Chicago, Illinois, USA - American actor and comedian.

His mother, Mary Ann (nee Crosby), was a housewife, and his father, Tom Farley, was in business. Chris had three brothers, Tom Farley Jr., actors Kevin and John, and a sister, Barbara. Chris's cousin Jim was vice president of Ford Motor Company. The Farleys were Irish Catholics, and all children regularly attended Madison Catholic School and Edgewood High School.

Graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee in 1986 with a degree in Theater and Television, where he studied drama and communication.

After graduating from college, he worked with his father at the Scotch Oil Company in Madison, and then began a professional acting career with the improvisational comic troupe Ark Improv Theater. While touring with the Second City Theater troupe, he was seen by Lorne Michaels, creator of Saturday Night Live, and invited to take part in a program where he trained under director Del Close. Having changed this collective to the troupe of the Second City Theater (where John Belushi also worked at one time), Farley was "open" for television.

Chris made his television debut in 1990 with a fondness for comedy and farcical characters, and soon became one of the most popular actors on the TV show. Season 94-95 he devoted himself to television, and then decided that it would not be bad to pursue a film career. Farley has starred in both Wayne's World, Tommy Boy and Beverly Hills Ninjas. Along with comedian Chris Rock in the spring of 1990, Farley became one of two newcomers to the SNL cast. He frequently performed alongside Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider and David Spade, who later became his partner in several films.

After Chris's contract with SNL expired, he focused on his acting career in Hollywood. In two of his most famous films, "Tommy Gump" and "Black Sheep", Farley played with close friend and SNL colleague David Spade. Each of the comedies grossed about $ 32 million at the box office, and both were highly popular on video. Chris Farley nearly reached stellar status, but drug and alcohol problems took a toll on his work. Since the beginning of 1997, Farley's health has been frequently discussed in the press. He tried to get treatment for obesity and drug addiction, but he never succeeded.
