Born on 17 January 1970.
Bart grew up in Manhattan. Graduated from the School of Arts at New York University with a degree in film and television producer. Bart shot his first feature film, Shadows of the Past, in 1997. He was nominated for a Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival for this film. Critics praised his debut. Bart directed such films as "The Wanderer", "Forbidden Mission", "Trust a Man." Freundlich is married to actress Julianne Moore. The happy couple, who have been living together since 1996, have two children, a son Caleb (born December 4, 1997) and a daughter Liv Helen (born April 11, 2002). The marriage was formalized in August 2003. Julianne Moore is 9 years older than her husband.
