Born March 13, 1950 - American actor and screenwriter.
In 1971 he moved to Chicago, where he became close friends with the playwright David Mamet. He worked in the Chicago theater founded with Mamet, in 1985 he settled with him in California, where he was at the forefront of Mamet's new troupe, Atlantic Theater Company.
After making cameo appearances on the big screen in such films as Radio Days (1987) and The Client (1993), Macy was cast in a supporting role in the acclaimed Coen brothers' tragicomedy Fargo (1996). Due to the success of this film, he was invited in 1997 to star in several notable films, including "Cheating", "Airplane of the President", "Psychosis" and "Boogie Nights" .
Macy's subsequent films include Magnolia (1999), Cellular (2004) and Real Wild Boars (2007). In the 2000s. Macy also took part in several television projects, for which he received two Emmy awards in 2003. In particular, he starred in the popular television series Ambulance (1994-1998).
