Australian-American actor Costas Mandylor was born in Melbourne in September 1965. His parents - Louise and Yiannis Mandilore - emigrated from Greece at one time. Costas was their first child, and later another child, Louis, was born in the family. He also became an actor. The younger brother of Kostas is best known for the series The Chinese Policeman.
Thanks to his parents, Mandylore learned the basics of the Greek language, although he grew up in Australia. Kostas's childhood was spent on the streets of Melbourne, full of bars and sports fields. As a young man, Mandylor became seriously interested in football. As a result, at 18, he moved to Greece to play for a local team in Europe. Three years later, Kostas returned to his homeland to participate in the National League. However, due to a serious injury to the shin, Mandylor was forced to say goodbye to his football career.
After leaving the sport, in 1987 Kostas moved to the United States in search of new opportunities. Here he took acting lessons to try his hand at cinematography. At first, Mandylore did not manage to get even a small role. Luck smiled at him in 1989 - then the first film with Costas Mandylor, entitled Triumph of the Spirit, was released.
After filming the picture in 1991, the actor met with director Oliver Stone. He invited Kostas to his next creation - the Doors film. In this film, Mandylor played a young Italian count. In the same year, the authoritative People magazine included Kostas in its list of the 50 most beautiful people in the world.
