Born July 1, 1934 in Paris, in a family of Jewish immigrants from Poland and Romania - furrier Girsch Langman and housewife Beila Berku. His sister is screenwriter Arlette Langman (born 1946).
Claude Berry is the father of actor and film producer Tom Langmann (b. 1972) and actor Julien Rassam (1968-2002) .
Since 2004, Claude Berry has been President of the French Film Academy.
He died on January 12, 2009 at the Salpetriere clinic in Paris, where he was hospitalized on January 10 with cerebrovascular accident.
