January 17, 1897 - October 19, 1981 - Danish actor of Swedish descent who was popular in Hollywood from 1926 to the mid-1950s. He is also known for his excellent appearance, which is why he was called "Greta Garbo's male". Between 1916 and 1963, he starred in over 70 feature films, 16 of which were produced during the silent era.
