Born April 5, 1976, St. Louis is an American actor.

Until the age of sixteen, he used his middle name Kelby, and then began to introduce himself as the first name Sterling to honor the memory of his father. He grew up in Olivette, Missouri and attended a county day school. Brown received his BA in Drama from Stanford University and later received his Master of Fine Arts from New York University.

After graduating from college, Brown played several roles in local theater. He also appeared in numerous television series, including Ambulance, NYPD, Military Legal Service, Boston Lawyers, Spy, Without a Trace, Third Shift and Third Shift ". He has starred in Stay with Ewan McGregor, Dark Sugar with Thay Diggs and Trust a Man with David Duchovny and Julianne Moore.

In the television series Supernatural, Brown played the vampire hunter Gordon Walker. On Army Wives, he had a regular role as Dr. Roland Burton, which he played throughout the show's seven seasons. In 2012-2013, Brown played the supporting role of detective Cal Beecher in the television series Into Sight. In 2016, he won an Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Film for his role as Christopher Durden in the first season of American Crime Story.

In 2014, Brown starred in Susan-Laurie Parks' Odyssey-inspired play Father Coming Home from War at the Public Theater.
