Born January 3, 1973, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - American actor, screenwriter, producer, director, editor, cameraman and artist.

Graduated from Brown Deer High School, a suburb of Milwaukee, and attended Marquette Catholic University in Milwaukee. For some time he studied at the College of the California city of Glendale. Harmon later used his college experience to write the script for a television series.

Early in his Milwaukee career, Harmon made frequent appearances on the free comedy scene, singing in particular with a song about masturbation.

In 1999, Harmon took part in the creation of the pilot episode of the television series

Together with Sarah Silverman, he created programs, writing scripts for several episodes. Harmon also wrote the scripts for two episodes of the web comedy series.

In 2009, NBC selected Harmon's sitcom Community to air in the fall, inspired by his own community college experience. For 3 seasons, Harmon served as an executive producer and showrunner for the series until his retirement was announced on May 18, 2012 as a result of tensions with Sony executives.

On June 1, 2013, Harmon announced his return to the Community team as a co-showrunner.

In May 2014, after broadcasting its fifth season, NBC decided to close the series, after which Harmon announced on June 30, 2014 that Yahoo! has resumed the series, intending to air 13 episodes of its sixth season online on Yahoo! Screen.

On May 23, 2011, Harmon began producing a monthly comedy show and podcast with Jeff B. Davis. After he was fired from the Community team, the show went weekly. The show inspired the streaming media subscription service Seeso to create the animated series. In early 2013, Harmon and Davis toured, broadcasting from Austin, Nashville, Somerville, Brooklyn, Rhode Island and more. The tour was the subject of a documentary directed by Neil Berkeley, who accompanied Harmon and Davisie. The film premiered at the Austin Film Festival on March 8, 2014.

During a one-year hiatus on the sitcom Community, Harmon co-wrote an animation show with Justin Roiland.

Harmon invented a storytelling technique known as "embryo story".

In July 2009, Harmon was nominated in two Emmy nominations for his writing for the Oscar TV show: Best Special Variety Show, Music or Comedy Program and Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics, the latter of which was awarded for "Hugh Jackman Opening Number" at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards.
