Born January 14, 1948, New Orleans, Louisiana is an American actor, producer, director and former professional football player.
Prior to acting, he played American football. He played for the Oakland Raiders, and between the seasons he became a local theater actor. Then for a while he moved to Canada to play for the "Lions of British Columbia", but in 1974 he gave up sports, deciding to devote all his time to his acting career. The first significant role - in the film "Rocky".
Weathers is best known for his roles as Apollo Creed in the Rocky series, George Dillon in The Predator, Chubbs Peterson in Lucky Gilmore and Nikki the Devil Jr., and playing the on-screen version of himself in the comedy series "Arrested development".
