Born November 2, 1974 in Austin, Texas, real name Cornell Haynes is an American rapper, actor, and entrepreneur.
began his career with the rap group St. Lunatics signed to Universal Records in 1996 and 2000, on which he released 7 studio albums and founded his own label Derrty.
Nelly is one of the most successful performers of the new millennium, having sold more than 30 million records in 8 years of his career, seven of his tracks reached the first line of the world charts. Winner of four Grammy Awards in 2003 and 2004. Nelly took the third place in the Billboard magazine rating of artists of the first decade of the 21st century.
As an actor, Nelly made his debut in 2005, co-starring in The Longest Yard opposite Adam Sandler and Chris Rock.
On top of that, Nelly was co-owner of the Charlotte Bobcats basketball club (until February 26, 2010), two clothing lines (Apple Bottoms (women) and Vokal (mens), NASCAR) and founder of numerous charities.
