Ninel Ivanovna Podgornaya was born on January 6, 1931 in Leningrad, USSR. Nelly was lucky to be born into a wealthy family, which was close to art, in particular, to theatrical. Every weekend, they took their daughter with them to the opera, theater or ballet, which Nelly Podgornaya was looking forward to every time. She was fond of painting and dancing from an early age, because her parents wanted to give Nelly the opportunity to develop comprehensively. She loved exact sciences, especially physics. After graduating from school, Nelly decided to enter the physics department of Leningrad State University, where she stayed for only two years. While studying at the university, she played at the student theater of Leningrad State University, where she finally and irrevocably fell in love with the stage, after which she took the documents, moved to Moscow and entered the Theater School named after Shchepkin, which he finished in 1954. Immediately gets a job at the Central Academic Theater of the Soviet Army as an ordinary actor. At first, the roles of Nelly Podgornaya did not really stand out, but over time they began to invite her to play the main characters. In addition to the theater, Nelly took part in the filming of several films, but, quickly realizing that she had warmer feelings for the theater, she left the cinema. Was married three times, the first marriage with Nikita Podgorny was short, from the second marriage with Vladimir Soshalsky, Ninel has one daughter. The last time she married physicist Kirill Pavlov, from whom she had two more daughters.
For her contribution to the development of art she was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Russian Federation.
