Born March 16, 1962 in Naples. She studied at the Italian National Film School, after which she went to work in the theater. At the theater she made her debut in the play "The Misanthrope" based on Moliere, directed by actor Tony Servillo. Later she worked with such famous playwrights as Leo De Berardinis, Mario Martone, Carlo Kekki, Emma Dante and Frederico Tiezzi.
On the big screen, Yaya Forte made her debut in 1986 in the film "Department Store", in which she played a supporting role.
In 2013, the actress starred in the film "Great Beauty" by Paolo Sorrentino. The film won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, as well as Golden Globe and British Academy awards in the same category. In 2014, Forte played herself in the documentary Life on a Volcano directed by Gianfranco Pannone.
