February 18, 1919 - November 10, 2006 - American actor of Ukrainian descent. Jack Palance gained acclaim as an actor in the Western genre and was nominated for an Oscar back in the 1950s, but won an award only in 1992 for his comedic role in the movie City Slickers. He was also a Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner.
