Born in Melbourne, Australia.
Sheridan attended Ascham School. In the late 1970s, she briefly pursued an acting career, starring in the TV series Glenview High, The Restless Years and The Young Doctors. From 1981-1984 Sheridan was a reporter for the children's television program "Simon Townsend's Wonder World". In 1994 she wrote the script for the series "House of Fun" .
Jobbins is a member of the Australian and American Writers Guild. Collaborates with director Stefan Elliott. In 2008 she wrote the script for the film "Easy Virtue" ("Frivolous behavior").
