Born July 15, 1951, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, better known under the pseudonym Jesse Ventura (Jesse Ventura) - American actor, radio, television show host, politician and 38th Governor of Minnesota.
He attended Cooper Elementary School and Minneapolis' Roosevelt High School, graduating in 1969. From September 11, 1969 to September 10, 1975 he served in the US Navy, fought in Vietnam.
As a professional wrestler, he is known as Jesse "The Body" Ventura, under which he performed as a wrestler and commentator in the World Wrestling Federation.
After leaving WWF, Ventura followed the advice of his former school teacher and ran for the 1990 mayoral election in Brooklyn Park, which he won. Ventura served as mayor from 1991 to 1995.
In 1999-2003 he served as Governor of Minnesota. In the 1998 Minnesota gubernatorial election, he stood for the Reform Party and was elected Governor 38 of Minnesota. In this position, he worked from January 4, 1999 to January 6, 2003. Ventura did not run for the second term.
In 2004, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
In 2014, announced his intention to take part in the US presidential elections in 2016, but in the end he spoke out in support of Bernie Sanders.
