Under the pseudonym Aztek, Escobar was the first artist to sign with Jay-Z's Roc-La-Familia label. From 2005 to 2010 he worked in the genres of hip-hop and rap. In 2012 he began his career as an actor, starring in an episode of the TV series "Louis" and the movie "Domino Effect". In 2013 he played in the film Bless Me Ultima.
